Well summer is finally here on the Westcoast and I can’t think of many beers I would rather have to celebrate this all too brief season than Granville Island Brewing’s Robson Street Hefweizen. Our award winning hefeweizen is the most popular wheat beer in BC.

To celebrate Vancouver Craft Beer Week (VCBW), May 6 – 14th, we are hosting an IPA Brewmaster’s Dinner featuring our award-winning Brockton IPA (India Pale Ale).

India Pale Ale’s were first brewed in the 1700s as to supply beer to the British in India. English beers at the time could not withstand the long trip overseas and most were undrinkable by the time they reached India. A new style of Pale Ale was born with increased hops and a higher alcohol content both of which helped to preserve the beer allowing the beer withstand the heat and length of the trip.
