Every season in Vancouver offers something unique and different. So we created our Limited Release beers to complement the best things about every season. We tend to brew them in smaller quantities so that we can refine their flavour, and while you may see a few in your liquor store, many are available only at our brewery on Granville Island.
Remember – like many of the finest things about our city, they’re only available in limited quantities. And just like a Vancouver season, you have to seize the moment while it lasts, because they’re gone before you know it. The good thing is that each new season ushers in a new exciting taste from Granville Island Brewing.
Jolly Abbot
Brewed for the holiday season, our Jolly Abbot is an homage to the Trappist monks who first brewed this rich ale. Humble beginnings in Belgium inspired this recipe known for its strong malt, spice and fruit flavours. We hope you’ll enjoy its deep mahogany colour and dry finish and raise a glass to the epiphany that helped create this brew in all its wonderful glory.

Chocolate Stout
Our Chocolate Stout is rich and warming. A perfect complement to Vancouver’s cold winter nights. It is brewed with 4 different malts. Hops from the Pacific Northwest and organic, fairtrade chocolate from Rogers’ Chocolates. This beer’s dark chocolate colouring and aromas of roast malt, cocoa and coffee flavours are accompanied by dried fruit and a mellow bitterness.

Nut Brown Ale
The traditional English fermentation process is alive and well with our limited release Nut Brown Ale. In it, we paired the strength of Northern England’s brown ales with the darker hue of their Southern counterparts. This Nut Brown Ale’s nutty aroma and dark walnut colour is best enjoyed with rich meals, aged cheeses and BC’s very own smoked salmon.

GIBitter
Our interpretation of this classic beer style boasts a great body, striking copper hue and a refreshing bitterness. Premium Pale and Crystal malts, Pacific Northwest Hops and an English ale yeast are combined to produce a well balanced special bitter.

Ginger Beer
This limited release is an alcoholic version of a traditional Caribbean Ginger Beer. Ginger Beer combines water, malt, hops and yeast with fresh ginger root to create a refreshing taste with the flavour and aroma of ginger and a bit of that spicy warmth you can only get from Jamaica. Enjoy Ginger Beer on its own or paired with spicy foods like Jamiacan Jerk or milder foods like sushi.

Belgian Wit
Our Belgian Wit is a lightly hopped unfiltered wheat beer fermented with a unique Belgian yeast and named for its cloudy, nearly white appearance. this unique witbier is spiced with coriander and exotic curacao orange to create a refreshing yet flavourful ale. Enjoy our Belgian Wit as the perfect accompaniment to warm weather and all that is great about Vancouver.
